Six months have passed since Taya, Guntharr, and their companions recovered the damaged Talisman of Alterian, the key to proving Taya is the rightful heir. With little to guide them, Firebane and Rift set out to a distant elven monastery in search of ancient writings that may reveal the next step in their journey. With attacks from dark creatures of Nightfall increasing, General Alderthorn sends his son, Farrian, and two other men on a mission to find a gifted spy who can infiltrate enemy territory and uncover the source of the plague.
